World Cup Stadium

I visited the World Cup Stadium in Seoul, built for the 2002 World Cup.  They offer tours which allow you to go into the locker rooms, the press room, on the field, and throughout the entire stadium.  It was an amazing feeling standing in the very locker room and on the very same field as some of the

greatest players in the world like David Beckham, Ronaldo, and Oliver Kahn.  I stood on the very field where the biggest sporting event in the world took place in 2002!

The stadium houses a World Cup museum as well, with memorabilia from the 2002 World Cup including some of the game balls, uniforms and cleats worn during the games, and signed by the players who used them.  There are pictures from the World Cup Stadium in the PICTURES section this site.

For Christmas this year, my wonderful wife got me a soccer ball autographed by Brandi Chastain, the star of the 1996 Women’s World Cup.  You may remember, she scored the game winning goal on a penalty kick in the final game.  Here is a picture of my wife with Brandi Chastain.
